2019-20 Budget Updates
2019-20 State Budget Negotiations and 2019 Conference Committee on the Budget
The Conference Committee met to complete negotiations over budget items of difference and take action on Sunday, June 9, 2019. On Thursday, June 13, legislators passed the compromised budget to the Governor. Governor Newsom has until June 25th to approve the main budget bill, AB 74. Trailer bills must be approved before July 1st, the start of the new fiscal year. Trailer bills of interest are listed on page 32 of the attached legislative matrix.
Assembly Blue Ribbon Commission on Early Childhood Education
The Assembly Blue Ribbon Commission has released its recommendations to improve California’s early education system. The final recommendations are available at https://speaker.asmdc.org/sites/speaker.asmdc.org/files/pdf/BRC-Final-Report.pdf.
