Message from the Strong Start California team

Greetings!

We’re 48 hours from our deadline to gather letters and logos for the Strong Start for CalWORKs Families Act/Budget request!

I’m following up on our request to receive:

  • A letter of support for SB 321- can you fill out the attached strongstartcalifornia , and submit it to the online portal?
  • We are also collecting logos for a budget letter to accompany the legislative support letter. If you would like your logo included, please email the logo to strongstartcalifornia
  • Please submit letters/logos to be listed on record of support by Wedn, March 27th

This bill provides 12 month eligibility for child care for all CDE funded child care programs and we’ve seen the positive impact it has had on the entire system. This bill would offer that same stable and uninterrupted child care to families who enter the CalWORKs program via Stage 1 child care under the Dept of Social Services. This bill will also remove the short term (1 day, 2 week) authorizations that have prevented many families from choosing licensed child care and/or losing affordable child care all together.

Now’s our chance to have a Strong Start for California families! Please send in your letters today!

In partnership,

Pete and the Strong Start California team
